At close to 1\/10 scale, the \u201cSlec Model Designs\u201d Bearcat is a near scale model of the mid 1940\u2019s naval fighter which was itself developed from its famous Wildcat and Hellcat predecessors. Designed to be powered by\u00a0 Electric, the Bearcat is also suitable for PSS ( Power Scale Soaring ) when the motor and battery is removed. To improve the flying performance of the model. Certain scale dimensions have been adjusted to reduce the drag and the wing loading of the finished model.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is not a beginner\u2019s plane<\/p>\n

Although the Bearcat is easy to build and fly, it is a model of an advanced high performance fighter aeroplane and has similar flying characteristics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as a WW2 pilot would have extensive instruction in trainer aeroplanes before graduating to the Bearcat, you will need to be able to handle a low wing sport model before you fly our version.<\/span><\/p>\n

Optional Fixed Undercarriage<\/span><\/p>\n

With the extra power available from the modern brushless motors and\u00a0 Li-Po Batteries, not only do you have extra power but also a big weight saving over the original 600 Mabuchi\u00a0 & NiCad power setup that flew this model back in the 90s. This has enabled us to offer as an extra a fixed undercarriage and tailwheel setup for modellers that would prefer not to belly land the model onto grass. Its not to Scale which is the reason we offer it as an extra.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bearcat Prototype was flown and produced good performance using the following\u00a0\u00a0 brushless motors\u00a0 OS. 3815-1000 & Turnigy XP D3536-8 turning a 9 x 6 electric propeller The battery pack used in both cases was a 2200mAh 3S Li-Po. <\/span><\/p>\n
